Abstract

Background: One of the dreaded postoperative complications of Myomectomy and Adenomyomectomy is antepartum or intrapartum uterine rupture. We propose that Mesh placement over a thinned-out uterine scar ideally done preconceptionally or as a rescue procedure in the antepartum period could be a potential surgical method to prevent scar rupture during expansion and stretching of the thinned-out scar during pregnancy. Here we present a case of Laparoscopic Mesh Metroplasty of a pregnant uterus at 17 weeks of gestation with images demonstrating the operative technique.
