Perimortem Cesarean Delivery: Current Consensus

Abstract

Perimortem cesarean delivery is defined as a cesarean delivery in pregnant women with sudden cardiac arrest. It is done if there is no return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) within 4 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The aim of the procedure is facilitation of resuscitation and probable fetal benefit in terms of survival and decreased risk of permanent neurological damage.
