Ovulatory disorders account for around 40% infertility in women.1 While some authors believe that ovulation induction can be empirically tried for three cycles even without a tubal patency test in patients with anovulatory cycles,2 others believe that demonstration of tubal patency is a must prior to any treatment as it is possible to have more than one factors contributing to infertility. It has been noted that some women conceive spontaneously after the procedure.3 Conceptually this could be due to flushing out of tubes thereby clearing the lumen during the procedure.
